I love Trail Boss for .45 Colt "cowboy" loads
Unique for .38 Special and .357 target loads
296 for .44 Mag and .357 hunting loads
231 for .45 ACP and 9MM (both jacketed)
Bullseye for .40 S&W 9jacketed) and .45ACP (cast)

I don't like the way that 296 meters in teh Lee Auto Disk, it is so fine, it causes the device to bind up.
I think that 231 and Bullseye ate the most versatile powders on the market, and are a must on the reloading bench.

3031 for .30-06 and .270
4350 for .257 Roberts, .243, .30-30, and .32 Special

I haven't tried very many different powders yet. I have been using mainly Titegroup in 9mm and 45 auto. Bullseye in 38 spcl. W748 and H335 in 223. I have been hearing a lot of good things about WST and bought a pound to try in 9mm and 45 but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I'm mainly using HS-6, Trail Boss, Titegroup, and AA#5 for handgun.  H4198 is my do it all rifle powder.

I use Unique for all my pistol calibers but I'm experimenting with some others such as W296, W231 and my go-to shotgun powder, WST.

I use IMR4895 and IMR3031 for my Socom16 7.62mm loads.

I use H322 (.30-30), H335 (5.56mm) and H4831 (.348WCF.)

I use a lot of varget it works well enough for the rifles that I load for that I can play with it and find a good load for almost all of them.

22-250
223
35 rem
308

I use 4831sc for the 270 loads.. I think 4831sc and the 270 is like hot apple pie and ice cream, they just go together Wink

In my 300 Savage and my 30-06 I have great accuracy results with IMR-4895. In my 223 Rem. (Savage M-110V, rare rifle) I have developed an excellent load with 23.1 grains of Ramshot X-Terminator. I called and shot the "#10" on a 5.5" Caldwell Orange Peel target last year at 250 yards Shocked. I also like the way X-Term. meters through my RCBS Uniflow measure. It is a spherical type powder as opposed to most of IMR's cylindrical extruded granules.

My favorite powders depend on what I am loading for.  For the best accuracy and velocity in my Colt Target AR-15, Rem. 223 I use H-335.  IMR-4895 seems to be the best choice for the M-1 Garand.

For self defence pistol loads (maximum velocity & accuracy) in my 380 acp I have found nothing better than VihtaVuori 3N37.  For the 9 mm self defence loads (maximum velocity & accuracy) VihtaVuori 3N37 for lighter bullets and VihtaVuori 3N38 for the 147 grain bullet.  These are fine grain clean burning powders.

For general practice with the 9 mm using 115 grain or heaver bullets, I prefer IMR-4756.  It give excellent performance, measures accurately and is very, very clean burning.  After a couple of hundred rounds using IMR-4756 just wipe off the gun, very little residue.  HP-38 give good accuracy, but it is extremely dirty and produces a lot of smoke, definitely not good on an indoor range.  Unique is also al dirty powder, but it performs reasonably well.

I've been using Unique in the smaller calibers, and Bullseye in the .40.  Seems to work well.
