I currently reload with an RCBS rock chucker.  I have noticed some good deals on die sets for sale used.  Can other brands of dies be used in my RCBS press?  Thanks!

Yes, most have 7/8 threads.

I wont buy used dies (tho I own a set) unless I cant get that caliber in new.

You dont know what they look like inside until you get them deliveried, torn apart and inspected.

Ive thrown many a die away if its not up to muster.

I also use shotgun swabs to clean my dies after every sizing.

The one set I do have used are 1960s 30-30 dies made for cast bullets.

All standard commercial dies are 7/8-14 thread, and can be interchanged.  I have had dozens of used die sets, and never had a problem with any of them.  If possible, inspect them before you buy and check for rust and scratches, but if they look good the odds are they won't cause you any problems.

Hey there Boss Hogg,

Thanks for the info.  What cleaning agent do you use to clean your dies after use?

Mine are never than dirty

If I get a new set, I use ATF (not the feds) one time soaking. Then carb cleaner, and run a dry shotgun fluffy thru after every sizing.
