I have been having a problem when seatin 223 Rem. bullets in the cases. I seem to shave the copper off some of them. I have been reloading for awhile, and I definately know that I am propely chamfering them. Does anybosy have any clues as to what the problem might be? Huh

Your full-length or neck resizing die should be sizing the neck correctly and making sure that the neck is not out-of-round.  I would check the part of the die that makes certain that the neck of the case is the correct internal diameter and is perfectly round.

Thanks for the prompt reply dhhardw. I think I have the problem resolved. My friend had the same problem with his .222, and then he used the RCBS VLD (Very Low Drag) chamfer toll and the shaving problem has subsided. I am going to try it out, and see if that helps. By the way, do you shoot a .223 Rem? My father gave me 200 Sierra, 77 gn. HPBT that I cannot shoot out of my Savage M-110V because the rifling rate of twist (1 in 14") will not support a bullet that heavy. I am willing to trade them for the equal amount of 55 gn. Sierra BlitzKings or Hornady V-Max. Sierra recommends that rifling rates be 1 in 7" or 8".
