Hello I got a question about brown spots on my brass. I got a couple of 30-06 cartridges that have a few small brown looking spots on them I have used a Scotch guard pad to clean them with and the rest got real bright and shiny but these still got the small spots. They did get smaller but are still there ,I was wondering if they are safe or not ? They don't seem to be soft on the spots but I was wondering. Thanks for any info you fellas can give me.

I have reloaded LOTS of brass with spots much as you described. Although I take pride in the look of my reloads, I don't let them bother me.

Those brown spots are the start of corrosion. A little bit isn't a bad thing, only when it gets really heavy do I toss it(you'll be able to tell).

If it's not too bad I'll reload it, just pay attention to it.

I've found that those spots come from contact with certain chemicals or sitting in the weather for extended periods of time. Ammonia is one of the chemicals that does this to brass, might want to check your brass polish to see if it contains any.
